Lenin Inspires the Lady Comrades Snow Clearing Team - KesterTester 22

Updated: Jan 16, 2021

Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, Ever Wise - Looks Towards the Horizon, Avoiding the Details (like mere humans) to Focus on the Grand Vision - But where is this?

I'd been saving this for a nice wintry day, as we had yesterday in Budapest. And after an easy KT21, I suspect this is a bit harder for most readers. These Stahanovista ladies posed briefly for the camera in 1989, before enthusiastically returning to snow clearing, gloriously eager to make this public square available for workers to gather beneath the statue of the Great Leader unhindered by ice or snow. As you can imagine from the pose above, nothing would stand in their way of fulfilling the task in hand at the earliest possible moment - and even sooner than that.

It's a KesterTester, so I promise you it's in the region, somewhere between Szczecin (Stettin) and Skopje - but where? If you know, or think you know, please send your entry via the contact (or email).

Now, as for KT21 - there were just three correct answers (surprisingly) - which is the Nemzeti Hotel National, officially at József krt 4, although most people would probably say it's on Blaha Lujza tér.

And the winning number out of the hat of this round of a competition which, may I remind you, is gaining increasing fame around the world is ... number 2, corresponding to Des McGrath. (I hope you are prepared for the public adulation, Des? Oh, and the two beers? :))

Commiserations to Stuart McAlister and Thomas Chilton esq for their brave efforts.

Have a good weekend, and if you can, locate those Comrade Ladies. I dare say they ought to have retired by now, but are no doubt snow clearing even today whenever they possibly can, such was their indomitable spirit.
